However, the first step is getting pre-approval on a construction loan.  The next step is to select a lot.  You’ll pick or design a floor plan and learn more about your builder’s process. Additionally, you’ll discuss the finishes you’d like to include in your design and agree on the price of your new home.  Pre-construction isn’t just a chance to review the specifics and technical elements; it’s also when the builder will talk to you about the next steps in the process.

Don’t worry; your builder should be well-versed in the process and be able to assist or handle these elements. Your builder will manage whatever paperwork or local permitting and approvals are needed for your build. Once you are aligned with your builder on the pre-construction specifics of your project, it’s time to sign a contract.

Site Prep

A lot of work goes into any given lot before it’s ready for construction to begin.
